The objective of this study was to examine how Florida’s public libraries organize and classify their collections via Pinterest. In most recent studies, Pinterest has been found to be the second-fastest-growing social media site during 2012-13. Pinterest offers a unique organization of visual experience to a user’s knowledge collection. The study examined a random sample of 25 libraries out of the population of all public libraries in Florida. We found that the majority libraries in our sample have Pinterest boards. We did not find any common organizational platforms, however, as we often might encounter in libraries’ cataloging and classification schemes.
